Jenny John
PhD, LPC
Jenny John is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC# 0701009755) and Certified School Counselor in Virginia. She has over 15 years of experience as an elementary school counselor and has been working in community mental health since 2006. She received her Master’s in Counseling and School Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University in 2005 and her Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University in 2021. Jenny is currently an Assistant Professor of Counseling and the Director of the Hamilton Campus Counseling Program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She teaches courses in child and adolescent counseling, addictive behaviors, lifespan development, clinical skills, and psychopathology. Jenny provides counseling services on a part-time basis through Chesapeake Counseling.
Jenny has extensive experience counseling children, adolescents, and adults in many areas of mental health and wellness, including mood disorders, anxiety, abuse, trauma, addiction, domestic violence, healthy relationships, faith integration, and life stage transitions. Jenny utilizes strength-based and cognitive therapies to come alongside clients as they work toward healing, healthy relationships, and flourishing.
