Military Counseling

Serving one’s country is a significant sacrifice, and it should never compromise mental health.

Military families face unique challenges, including separation during deployment, relocating for permanent changes of station (PCS), and the everyday pressures of military life. We specialize in PTSD and trauma therapy. It’s our honor to support you, just as you have supported us.

Even the most resilient families can feel the ongoing stress of deployment.

For the last two decades, our military has been in a continuous cycle of combat deployments, with many service members spending a large portion of their time away. Exposure to traumatic events during service has resulted in unprecedented rates of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Without effective treatment, the ongoing symptoms of combat-related PTSD can lead to substance abuse, and the suicide rate among military personnel is currently estimated to be twice that of civilians.

At Chesapeake Counseling Associates, PC, we hold deep admiration for the sacrifices made by military families.

These families often endure the absence of a primary caregiver for extended periods, ranging from six months to several years. They also face the difficulties of moving, making new friends, and enrolling their children in new schools each time a service member receives PCS orders. Such significant changes can lead to instability and emotional pain for everyone involved.

We are honored to provide you with the care, respect, and confidentiality you deserve.

To military families, we encourage you to reach out and remember that you are not alone. We are here to provide proven military counseling to support you.
